I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on my dash lately that have been worrying and upsetting me.

Posts about people feeling depressed. Wanting to kill themselves. And this really upsets me for several reasons and I’m now going to tell you why you shouldn’t be thinking these things and feeling these things and I want you to listen very carefully. 

You are here for a reason. Whatever you choose to believe, we are here for a reason. Every one of us was given life to live for a reason. You have a reason to be here. You have a purpose. As the saying goes, “To the world you are one person. But to one person, you are the world”. You might not realise it, but somewhere, someone, cares about you and wants you to be part of your life. They want you to be here so that they can spend their time with you and make you laugh and smile. 

Not everyone has the best life. Some people will suffer tremendous tragedies in life that will leave them with no will to live. But I say, things to get better. There are people who understand and care and want to help. I don’t personally believe that Life is one big master plan or that God tests us because he knows we’re strong enough to cope, but the plain truth of it is that suffering will never last too long. It will end. And things will get better and you’ll look back and you’ll realise you made the right decision by sticking around. 

Lastly, I want everyone on here to know that they are loved by someone. Anyone. It doesn’t have to be anyone in particular - it can be your cat, your next door neighbour, the friendly checkout woman at the store who always asks how you’re doing when you buy groceries. But you are loved. 

Nobody is perfect. But you’re perfect to me. And you matter.
